Course summary
Become qualified to offer sleep ritual for cancer patients in your salon, spa, clinic or rooms. This qualification is delivered online and can be completed at your convenience, to suit your schedule.
Jennifer Young’s postgraduate diploma Sleep Ritual is a certified qualification designed to give spa therapists, beauty practitioners and healthcare workers the understanding, knowledge and confidence to provide a dedicated, sleep encouraging, full body treatment to clients going through the different stages of cancer, without requiring medical consent.
Our clients often tell us that they find sleep elusive, which is not surprising given that they are going through so much emotionally and physically. However, we know, through evidence-based research, that when someone is going through cancer treatment, living with cancer or recovering from it, touch treatments can have a powerful physical, mental and emotional impact on health and wellbeing, including improving sleep quality.
This course at the Jennifer Young Training School is combination of online learning and the supported completion of case studies. Through it, you will learn about the biology of cancer, the science of its treatments, the biological drivers of resulting side-effects, and how to adapt and deliver the Jennifer Young Sleep Ritual safely and confidently, including a foot bath, mini-facial, scalp treatment and oiled full body massage.
This is a certified course accredited by the Federation of Holistic Therapists. Upon successful completion, you will be able to welcome cancer patients to your spa or practice for oncology sleep ritual. You will be insured to do so, without requiring medical consent.

Evidence for the benefits of oncology touch therapy treatments
Undergoing or recovering from cancer treatment is often the time when extra indulgence and pampering is required the most. However, post-diagnosis, it becomes more difficult to find salons and spas who offer treatments, meaning that oncology massage, facials, and hand, nail & foot treatments are often a memorable, transformative experience.
