Sometimes clients can feel the needles being inserted. Once in position, the needles are not felt.

Some clients bleed a little when needles are removed.

Yes. Many NHS centres and cancer support charities offer courses of auricular acupuncture. We are not alone in recognising the benefits of this therapy to those affected by cancer.

If your blood coagulates normally, you can have acupuncture. Your practitioner is likely to use fewer needles in your first treatment in order to assess your bleeding. More needles may be used at second and subsequent appointments.

Practitioners in the Jennifer Young Clinic will never work with someone affected by cancer if they are unwell.

We ask clients to re-arrange their appointment if unwell.

We use sterile needles which are disposed if in a sharps box.

We assume everyone has low immunity and our clinic protocols reflect this assumption.

A probe and magnet are sometimes used, these are disinfected between uses and they are not used on broken skin.

We have strict and rigorous hygiene protocols in place. You will see all practitioners at the Jennifer Young clinic washing their hands regularly.

Don’t worry, we’ve got you. We can use needles to calm you. One of our most nervous clients described the impact of one needle (her first) as like being in a warm bath. Another described the experience as being wrapped, all over in a heated blanket.
