Self-Care Saturday
Feb 16, 2021I had an unusually indulgent experience recently – I was given a home pedicure.
Oh.My.Life.
It was incredible.
I use our Jennifer Young products – my morning and night facial routine involves the Beyond Beauty Collections – but self-care extends only to my face. I love my toes to be painted (it gives me a gazing point during yoga) but I don’t do it myself.
This weekend, my eldest daughter decided that not only was she going to paint my toes, I was getting the whole shebang. It was treated to Defiant Beauty Nail Oil, Defiant Beauty Smooth Skin Balm and, the best ever, Well-Being Beauty Confidence Foot Soak.
I am staggered by the sheer indulgence of the home experience.
Daughter Number 1 started by treating my neglected digits to Defiant Beauty Nail Oil. I was convinced that this would prevent the polish from ‘sticking’ but as #1 wiped them with nail varnish remover afterwards, all was well.
Next came a mask of Defiant Beauty Smooth Skin Balm (you could do this with Defiant Beauty Mild Mint Foot Balm). I received a thick layer of balm which remained in place as my toenails were painted. Soon after, my feet were lowered into a bowl of warm water containing Well-Being Beauty Confidence Foot Soak.
I formulated both the Confidence Blend and the Foot Soak a long time ago, I haven’t used it for a while and I am amazed at just how divinely lovely the whole experience is. The rose petals rise to the surface, the fragrance is incredible and my feet were embraced by the balm mask.
I doubt that this indulgence will be repeated ‘paint your own toes’ is the usual response to a request for beauty services, however, I won’t stop wanting a repeat – I cannot recommend it highly enough.
