Mental health – how is yours? Touch therapies for cancer patients and lockdown
How are you feeling about our emerging situation? I have some serious concerns about the mental wellbeing of a working population who are encouraged to work from home if they can. Some folk love it but not everyone does. Isolation can take its toll. It’s not just those in work, those out of work, students who are at college for 3 days in 14 instead of 10 days in 14, the adults who can no longer play team sports – we are vulnerable to feeling low, or worse. Up until yesterday I was cynical about the ‘recover from COVID’ spa offerings. I now consider the implications of another lockdown whilst feeling the need to protect my team from becoming too distanced from normal social interaction. My cynicism is giving way to an ardent belief that the good we can do is needed more than ever. I am becoming more and more sensitive to the lack of evidence available to us to inform our decisions or to judge the decisions being made which affect us all. There is lots of evidence to support the good we do. Is the time right to start shouting about it? Sending amplification
