FAQ - Hormonal Wellness Touch Therapies

menopause spa treatments Apr 04, 2022

I anticipate a lot of questions about our new touch treatments for women experiencing some of the 34 symptoms of menopause whilst going through any of the 3 stages of menopause

This video gives the answers to some of them. The words are spoken to a client of a Jennifer Young therapist (the video is destined to be featured on www.TheMenopausePlus.com, this is your sneaky peek). I hope you find the answers useful to you too.

Have I done any research into the effectiveness of these products?

No, not directly. I commissioned some research from a UK university. I asked them to look into the evidence for (or against) the effectiveness of complementary therapies in helping with the symptoms of menopause. They did not consider anything that was not a good, solid, robust scientific study. They were very strict, frustratingly so.

They found that phytoestrogens were effective across a wide spectrum of symptoms and that aromatherapy was also effective in some symptom groups.

Do I make any claims?
No

Do I make any promises?
Only that we will refund any MPlus purchases if they don’t bring joy. I am paraphrasing – the exact wording can be found on our site.

Why did I decide to make skincare?
I am a qualified nutritional therapist. I used to give clients comprehensive lifestyle and nutritional protocols alongside supplement suggestions. It was hard work, for both of us.

Change doesn’t feel good, even when we want the change. It takes time and effort and many people don’t stick to the programme.

Most of us use skincare products, if not on our face, on our body. If we didn’t before we may well when our hormones start to change.

The MPlus alchemy is not it’s only super power. The familiarity of routine is equally mighty. You might forget to take your multi vitamins; I very much doubt that your alluring and luxurious, indulgent and comforting selfcare products will be left to languish.

What do I say to someone who prefers to manage symptoms rather than cause? You are in the right place. I have spent the last 10 years looking after women who have been put through an induced menopause as a result of medical treatment. I can’t address the root cause there as it is a lifesaving medical treatment. I can help with the symptoms and the products which I have formulated to do so, to spectacular effect are available from www.TheMenopausePlus.com shop. There are lots of symptoms and we have lots of products.

Have our products ever helped anyone? Yes, we have helped thousands of women across the globe.

How advanced is the research into menopause symptom management? Not very advanced at all. I did some research into PMS, as part of my first degree, many years ago. Even then, the research was more advanced than the work on menopause is now. It is outrageous. There is no excuse for this inaction. Menopause affects millions of women and it is a certainty.

We are leading the way, having commissioned a review of the research done to a high level recently between 2015 and 2020.

I have since commissioned a second piece of academic work which aims to gather information from 1 million women internationally. The data will be analysed (by academics who are also responsible for validating the questionnaire I have designed). I hope that the results, when published, will be used to inform the healthcare professionals to whom women look for help and support.
